NWAS was formed in 2009 and is part of the National Adoption Service in Wales. The service is hosted by Wrexham County Borough Council and is one of the National Adoption Services’ five regional adoption collaboratives and two Voluntary Adoption Agencies in Wales.
Working regionally helps us find new families more effectively, place children quicker and improve our adoption support services. Sharing best practice makes our services even better. This means we can offer you the support and service you need whatever stage you’re at.
We provide a wide range of adoption services:
A little bit more about us…
"A child’s individual need for a loving home which respects their identity and offers them a positive sense of well-being is at the core of the activity of the individual agency within the North Wales Adoption Service."
The North Wales Adoption Service (NWAS) has completed its tenth year of activity. We continue to work with our colleagues in the National Adoption Service, our partners in the voluntary sector and regional adoption services across Wales to improve the services for children and adults involved in adoption in Wales.
Understanding the impact of trauma on a child’s development and how parenting therapeutically can improve family life.
Post adoption support for families facing a current challenge within their family life.
Age appropriate support groups in North Wales for adopted children and young people.
Achieving the best Life Journey material possible for a child or young person.
If you’re interested in adoption, need additional support, or just want to ask us some questions, we’d love to hear from you.
You can also speak to an adoption worker for an informal chat, and we can then send you an information pack.
